Rather foolish of one to assume to hastily, methinks.
And trust me: I've been around cats long enough to know. Certainly domesticated ones, anyway. While they may indeed exhibit varying degrees of cunning and tenacity (as well as curiosity and endearment), they also tend to be egocentric, gluttonous, clumsy and, to some extent, rather one-dimensional.
What this pic here illustrates is a classic (and rather comical) example of the stereotypical "cat-mentality" where a cat's owner/master comes around, carrying something, and they automatically assume he/she has food for them. One of the funny things about that, though, is that it wouldn't matter if they already had food out for them to eat. They would STILL come mewing to their master to be fed! (As if they had forgotten they had already been given a sufficient amount of food beforehand.)
Of course, in other aspects, you'd be right. As ditzy as they can be, they can ALWAYS tell the difference between a canned lunch and fresh meat! (And I think it's obvious as to which they prefer. Then again, if I had to pick between canned stew and a fresh sirloin steak, I'd probably go for the steak every time, so I can pretty much sympathise with them on that note.)
You like dogs, I think... I can´t agree with you, because I can say "I've been around cats long enough to know" also, "To know they are so intelligent, affective (with his "owner"), amazing animals and faithful friends... and they're astute, of course. You, maybe, can't see the picture and see that they don´t know a mermaid (like a human); so they assume, if it have a fish tail, it live in water, it would be a fish, or like a fish. The food is another cuestion. At the end, you and me should let the discussion, because we are going to nowhere. OK? Good bye
I think Ghostly here has a member of the family which loves cats but unfortunately he doesn't like them very much.
Your language states that you did interact with cats but sadly you aren't the first person, you are literally just audience, watching by the sidelines, all you saw are the obvious traits of the furry creatures. That's only because you don't love them as much, if you did love them you can understand much more about their ways and their tiny play of emotions. Try my advice interact with them, as in play with them cuddle them a bit and you will see what we are talking about. You're a pretty smart guy so you'll get a hang of it in a few days time.
Oh yeah about food, everyone loves food seriously who doesn't?
