Asexuals VS the world by Kibbitzer Asexuals VS the world by Kibbitzer
or "you just need to find the right one!", "don't worry you'll're just confused" and MORE...

100% Based on real and useless conversations with our friends, relatives, and random people.

that's our story: too many people assume asexuality doesn't exist.
we are just OR liars OR confused OR childish OR traumatized by particular events OR the worst pervs (WTF??)
the real asexuality is NEVER a considerable option..(my friend is always called gay because os his hair LOL)

this pisses me off..really! I don't understand what the problem is! misinformation? rejection? WELL...

Answer: basically is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone or low or absent interest in sexual activity.
It may be considered the lack of a sexual orientation, or one of the four types thereof, alongside heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality. A study in 2004 placed the prevalence of asexuality at 1%.

BUT! this is a complicated topic. we are all different and there are various sub-categories blah blah blah.
read here for more informations. >>…

BTW we exist! we are not fucking legendary creatures JEEZ! now we understand how Santa Claus feels!
exactly as heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality is NOT a choice.
we can appreciate a nice pair of boobs, a bootie or some cool abs ~
we can be romantic, we can love and want to marry someone ~
the only relevant difference is "we don't care about your...your... (ノ⊙ヮ⊙)ノ~『✧~*YOU KNOW WHAT*~✧』"

What does it even matters... I mean, if someone would say me that he/she 's an alien , I would still be like 'okay... Can you please tell me about your planet?" It would be really boring if everyone was the same... Humans are humans, aren't they? ;)
Ps, I like the hair of your friend

Oh my flipping glob! Being asexual doesn't mean you're a flipping alien from Mars. You just don't have any interest. It's normal, are we ALL supposed to be interested in other people 24/7?!

I've been pretty lucky in that most of my classmates and peers and friends have been very accepting of my asexuality. Usually I just have to explain what it is, and that even though I'm not sexually attracted to people, I am romantically attracted to people (heteroromantic, to be specific, but my best female friend and I define our relationship as "platonic soulmates"). Most of the time they're just like "Ooooohhhh. Okay." :XD:

Mom was a bit more skeptical about it when I first brought it up and gave me some of the usual responses... "Not even [insert celebrity name here]?" "You haven't met the right person," "You're missing out on a crucial part of the human experience," "Don't be so quick to put a label on it, you'll probably change your mind..." Eventually I had to tell her that I've thought I might be asexual since I was in high school and I just got tired of waffling over how to explain how I feel about other people. She dropped it after that, but I think she probably still doesn't really GET it. I know she just wants me to be happy, but I'm happy the way I am now. :P

Anyway, yes. I like this. It's cute AND relatable. :D

I rarely get questions like these but that's because I'm careful with who I tell. Not because I'm ashamed but because I have a short temper and I can't tolerate ignorance for long. One of my friends sent me a comic of an asexual succubus once I told him. It was hilarious and I don't regret telling him.

I once got, "Does that mean you'll always be a virgin?" from someone.

Like, yo. Asexuals can have sex and engage in all that crud like anyone else. Don't confuse us with folks who are celibate.

People are weird.

I appreciate this. It sucks when people refuse to understand you exist.

It never fails to freak people out when they find out I'm an asexual. Now... I just keep that information to myself.
Tribble-Industries Featured By Owner Feb 1, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
Kind of understandable.
You can be a person with something like Asper's and its kind of...well eh.
Or as Orson Scott Card's book Ships of Earth put it...for one character, if you don't do it you are a Zaop.
Although that character got married, and actually had a long-fulfilled married life and a good relationship with his wife.

Personally, I know its mechano-phisoo-psycho-biology. I would rather study it...then take the exam! lol.

But I like being around people, if did marry it would be for companionship...and maybe some kids on the side.
But companionship becomes something that people who are asexual are more comfortable with. And, probably for me is more sane.

I've only recently discovered that I'm asexual, so I've only had a couple of these conversations so far.  But they've been frustrating enough.  But that last one is hiliarious!  Is that real?  Because I'm having a little trouble believing that someone could actually be that stupid

So, we're not a super-rare pokémon? :C

One I often get from a kinda ridic friend of mine "Are you still asexual? :3"

Yes, I am. My orientation doesn't just magically change so you can get into my pants gtfo. Even if I weren't Asexy he still wouldn't stand a chance cuz he has no lady-handling skills whatsoever *huffs*

I just try to focus on the friends I've got who actually understand and don't ask silly questions like that >.> I've personally had the 'you're a liar' or the 'you're just saying you are to be Speshul' a lot ._.

Ah, I understand what you go of my close friends is asexual, and even I get tired of people asking them about it. But, I used to think a lot about what those people said in the comic (though I knew better not to voice it out loud lol), but once I met my friend and started being more open-minded to that kind of stuff (the different sexualities), I understood. I still find it hard to grasp sometimes, but I accept it and my views on my friend hasn't changed because of that :meow: We're all of the same human species after all.

I don't understand how you get called a 'perv', like really?  Did you punch them?  Please, tell me you did >.>
I'm a completely open person to all types of sexuality and as such I find it completely rude and unneeded to make such terrible remarks
Not gonna lie though, being bisexual is not much better...I get constantly told that I'm just using my sexuality as an excuse to sleep with everyone.  I just sit there like no, that is not it and then I walk away before I do something rash because trying to explain myself to these people only frustrates and upsets me more.
I've even been told that bisexuality doesn't  What do you mean it doesn't really exist?
Or the best one yet, when I'm dating a man it's all "Oh so, technically you're straight now?" and vice versa when dating a female....
Like god damn it no!  What don't you people understand?!
Anyways the point of me ranting was to say, I totally understand your frustration on this topic and I wish you luck in dealing with all the wacko people out there who believe being straight is the only real way to go.

It took me forever to realize that I'm asexual. I just find the concept of...     sex...     incredibly gross. so it was a huge relief when I recently found this category. I was like, "MY PEOPLE! YAY!" ~owo~

I've heard the same things all the time. I've even been told that my boyfriend must be awful but I've never had one. That just opens up a load of even worse questions and then I have to start from the beginning again.

Hi! I just wanted to thank you for making this since I read this something like half of year ago, and I wasn't sure what asexual was so I read about it on Wikipedia. And that's when I realized like "hey, that's like me!" and it was really reliefing to have a word for what I felt like. So thank you, this helped me forward a lot :)

I'd rather pay a homeless man $50 to grab a bat and bash my head to rather hear people say "You haven't find the right man yet" or "She never tried it" Being a asexual is the hardest thing I have to deal with sometimes but being aromatic makes everything worse too oAe but love the comic you made :3

It's truly amazing how some people can't grasp the fact that some people don't want to have sex. To be quite honest, it's amazing to me that some people are destroying their lives just to have sex... And that's the norm?

Strange strange world we live in.

Whenever I tell people that I'm asexual, they usually say, "I knew you were either straight or asexual!"...which is funny because I'm panromantic. Also, is there just something about my personality that screams "NO HOMO" to make them think that I may be so "NO HOMO" that I am not even straight? least I don't have to explain to them what asexuality is
oh hey look groups for asexuals

Ahhh I understand this completely -_-;; I'm an Aromantic, and the crap you cop is the same as asexuals - I've given up trying to explain it to people, I just tell them that my preferences are none of their business and leave it at that :P
MrHolister Featured By Owner Mar 29, 2014  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Thanks for the candid perspective. I'd probably be in one of those categories up there, as I have no reference point to how that would feel. The last one made me laugh so hard I almost fell out of my chair. I feel the same stigma in regards to people that are on the opposite end of the spectrum. To appreciate sexuality seems to be just as bad a crime these days as not having any preference at all. Society puts up some mysterious boundaries that make no real sense to me sometimes. For instance, we are fine with children seeing physical harm being done to others, and loss of limb etc, but heaven forbid a young person see a person without clothes on. Cut their arm off, sure, why not,... but show a nipple? NO WAY, THAT WOULD WARP KIDS MINDS! Sorry, kind of went on a rant there. Good piece and it's good you understand why people have the reactions they do.
Kibbitzer Featured By Owner Mar 29, 2014  Student Digital Artist
Is not your fault! schools should talk about it and explain all the sexual spectrum.
our society is damn "heterocentric..knowledge is the first step to acceptance!
leonidas1986 Featured By Owner Mar 25, 2014
I don't want to sound like a jerk but I can sort of understand where these types of questions come from. Of course I absolutely understand your frustration with them though. In my opinion it's just that sexuallity is such an important part of many peoples lives (mine included) that it might be mind boggling to not have it in your life. So people try to find an 'explanation' for themselves for what they are unable to process intelectually - and that's why we have questions like that. Hell, differences between people are big - even two heterosexuals - like me and me soon-to-be wife are so different in this respect it's crazy. I hope you won't get angry but I do think that you are missing on something nice - but defienietly you're not damaged in any way. Great art by the way, love your style!
Kibbitzer Featured By Owner Mar 25, 2014  Student Digital Artist
I understand those questions and besides the rudeness of some people,
everybody need to be informed! I'm surely missing something nice but
I have no interest in it!  it's not a choice..exactly like heterosexuality,homosexuality etc :'D
and yes..being called liar/bigot/childish/prude/mentally ill/confused is really frustrating :I

btw thanks!

the last one both amused me and gave me the urge to slam my head against something. Why must the world be stupid? why?
you have no idea how murderous I get when someone refers to Bisexuality as being 'confused' or 'greedy' because yes, we must all be bed hoppers and are attracted to everything that moves -_-
ah life.
anyway, I absolutely love your work and have been currently loosing sleep exploring your gallery. simply lovely! *air hugs*
